Acceptable Use & Suspension Policy
Effective Date: September 18, 2026 • Fair Operating Standards for Takeoff Engine Services
1Purpose & Scope
Takeoff Engine provides commercial estimating, bidding, and quantity takeoff tools for construction contractors, estimators, engineers, and developers. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") establishes the standards required of all users to ensure a safe, secure, reliable, and professional business environment. This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service and is a binding agreement between you and Takeoff Engine. By accessing or using Takeoff Engine, you agree to comply with this AUP, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy. Violations may result in immediate account suspension, permanent termination, restriction of platform access, and legal action. The prohibitions listed below are not exhaustive; Takeoff Engine reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether any conduct violates this AUP.
2System Abuse & Platform Integrity
To protect platform performance and security for all estimators, the following abusive actions are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate suspension. Takeoff Engine reserves the right to impose rate limits, usage caps, or other restrictions on any feature or resource at any time without prior notice:
- Excessive API flooding, automated scraping, denial-of-service attacks, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), or deliberate overload of calculation, PDF generation, or any other Service resources.
- Attempting to bypass trial metering, role access controls, organization seat limits, billing checks, authentication barriers, rate limits, or any other usage restrictions.
- Reverse engineering, unauthorized decompilation, disassembly, or attempting to extract, copy, or reproduce proprietary calculation engines, formulas, system algorithms, source code, or trade secrets.
- Account credential sharing outside of authorized organization seat allocations, facilitating unauthorized third-party access, or creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or trial restrictions.
- Uploading malicious files, exploit payloads, malicious scripts, viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, corrupted spreadsheet data, or any code intended to compromise, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to server infrastructure or other users' data.
- Using automated tools, bots, spiders, crawlers, or scripts to interact with the Service, except through officially documented and authorized APIs.
- Data mining, bulk exporting, or systematic extraction of user data, project data, or platform content for purposes unrelated to your legitimate use of the Service.
3Fair Communication & Anti-Discrimination Standards
Takeoff Engine is a professional B2B platform designed for civil, utility, and general construction trade professionals.
We maintain straightforward, fair, and common-sense standards for all communications, proposal notes, team workspace interactions, and client correspondence. Discrimination, harassment, or abusive conduct will not be tolerated. Takeoff Engine reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether any communication or conduct violates these standards.
- Unlawful Discrimination: Unlawful discrimination, denial of services, or abusive harassment directed toward clients, subcontractors, vendors, or team members based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status in any proposal, comment, email, or transmitted communication.

- Fraudulent or Deceptive Conduct: Knowingly transmitting fraudulent bid packages, forged signatures, deceptive proposals, or manipulated estimates intended to mislead owners, general contractors, public agencies, or any third party.
- Inappropriate & Prohibited Imagery: Uploading, storing, or transmitting inappropriate photos, profile images, logos, avatars, project attachments, or media containing sexually explicit content, nudity, gratuitous violence, hate symbols, or copyrighted imagery without authorization. Depending on the severity and frequency of the violation, Takeoff Engine may, without prior notice: issue formal warnings; temporarily suspend account access; revoke organization seats; restrict or disable specific features; or permanently terminate account privileges without refund.
In cases involving malicious platform attacks, illegal activities, severe fraudulent conduct, or imminent harm to the Service or its users, accounts may be terminated immediately without prior notice, and relevant data may be preserved and referred to appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities as required by law.
Takeoff Engine has no obligation to provide a reason for any enforcement action or to offer an appeal process. Upon termination for AUP violations, we may retain your account data for as long as reasonably necessary for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or protection of other users, after which it will be deleted. You will not be entitled to any refund of prepaid fees.
